Test requierments

  • Monitor the use of proper methodology among laboratory personnel.Qualify the work of contract laboratories.Ensure the accuracy of labeling information

  • Approximately 40 percent of the total wheat samples collected were analyzed for grade and other physical kernel characteristics including test weight, thousand kernel weight, protein, falling number, and overall grade.

  • Quality tests, including milling,flour evalution, physical dough and bread properties, are conducted on composite samples representing each crop reporting area.All state and regional averages have been adjusted to reflect production as opposed to simple averaging.

  • Although consumers make the ultimate judgement,baking tests are the final laboratory method for evaluating wheat quality.in general, a good correlation exists between loaf volume and protein quantity and quality. Laboratory technicians also visually evaluate test loaves for crumb grain,texture and colour,as well as crust colour and loaf symmetry.
